SUMMARY:Behavior Support 1 Training
DESCRIPTION:This ONLINE class is Session 1 of the Academy’s Behavior Support training program\, but can be taken as a stand-alone training as well. This session explores safe and healthy relationships\, and the four domains of safety: physical\, psychological\, social and moral. Discussion will include tips for de-escalation\, the three de-escalation ‘checks’ and the necessity of dealing with both facts and feelings to help a person resolve their escalation. The importance of debriefing following an escalation will be discussed including tips for doing so effectively. Content on trauma and resilience addresses a trauma informed approach to supporting others\, including trauma symptoms\, the Hand Brain\, factors that influence resiliency\, and the trauma healing power of healthy relationships\, belonging\, voice\, choice and control.
